Rough diamond scanning

Rough diamond scanning is the process of using specialized imaging technology to analyze the surface of a rough diamond before it is cut. This process helps diamond cutters to determine the best way to cut the diamond in order to maximize its value and beauty. During the scanning process, a diamond is placed on a light table and an advanced digital camera captures hundreds of images of the diamond from different angles. These images are then processed using specialized software which identifies the inclusions, blemishes, and optical features of the diamond. The resulting data helps the diamond cutter to determine the best way to cut the diamond to maximize its potential.
